It is now possible to file a Flight Plan in advance, i.e. before you actually log on to VATSIM to start your online flying.
Visit the VATSIM Flight Planning page to file your flightplan, or to obtain further information.
For flightplanning, and to announce your flight via ServInfo and the more recently released VATSPY, the following applications are at your service:
- Former SAG VACC has provided a new Flightplan System and Routing Database called VAT Route. Visit the homepage of VATRoute to learn more.
- Another advanced flightplanning tool is VROUTE which exists both in a freeware version and in a Pro payware version.
- Dolomynum is an independent and lightweight tool that runs locally on your PC, and shows the status of online Controllers, Oilots and Observers.
- QuteScoop is a platform-independent status indicator like ServInfo for VATSIM, IVAO and any other FSD network. It is based on Gergely Kosa's Dolomynum, but written in C++ using the Qt4 framework. It runs on Windows, Mac and Linux.
